Open Hiatus

Just posting this here to let my visitors know that this site will be on an open hiatus. It is not abandoned, just on a straight hiatus. I don’t know when I will return, maybe perhaps in a few months.
Gertie, if you see this, I requested a hiatus here so please do not delete this site due to no updates because I am very much interested in keeping this site, just want to take a break.
Though Summit and Neil Burger’s “Divergent” is still on the lookout for its male lead to pair with Shailene Woodley, it may have found a major co-star for her with Kate Winslet in talks to join the movie.
Summit is eyeing a film trilogy; it acquired the Veronica Roth novel in March 2011, shortly after which Burger beat out a slew of helmers to land the coveted gig. The story has a futuristic, “Hunger Games”-like teen-on-teen violence setting and follows 16-year-old Beatrice Prior, whom Woodley is set to play. It is unknown what part Winslet would play in the film.
Burger will helm, with Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher producing through their Red Wagon banner. Vanessa Taylor is rewriting the script that Evan Daugherty penned and Burger helped develop.
Pic is set to bow March 21, 2014.
Though Winslet is no stranger to starring in a big-budget-tentpole, the film would mark her first opportunity at a possible franchise.
Summit is also still trying to find its male lead to pair with Woodley. The studio recently tested Lucas Till, Alex Pettyfer and Jeremy Irvine, but sources say the shingle may go older after not finding its guy with the latest readings.
The CAA- and United Agents-repped Winslet can be seen in Relativity’s “Movie 43,” which bows this weekend, as well as Paramount’s “Labor Day,” which bows sometime in the fourth quarter of 2013.
I have added dvd captures of Kate from one of her earlier films, A Kid in King Arthur’s Court.

Kate Winslet Marries Ned Rocknroll
By Kimberly On Dec 26th, 2012 In News & Rumors • Comments Off
Academy Award winner Kate Winslet has wed Ned Rocknroll in a secret ceremony, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm.
The Titanic actress, 37, married the fellow Brit, 34, “in early December in New York,” according to a source. “They were surrounded by a small group of friends and close family members.”
A rep could not be reached for comment. The two were first linked in the fall of 2011, though neither has mentioned an engagement.
This is the third marriage for Winslet. The Reader actress was wed to director Jim Threapleton from 1998 to 2001; they are parents to daughter Mia, 12. Winslet and director Sam Mendes tied the knot in 2003 and divorced seven years later; they are parents to son Joe, 9.
Rocknroll, the nephew of Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, was previously married to British socialite Eliza Cowdray, the daughter of a multimillionaire viscount.
In September 2012, Winslet and Rocknroll (born Abel Smith) purchased a 15th-century home in West Sussex, England. “Ned is really happy with Kate,” a source once told Us of the couple. “He feels he can learn so much from her.”

Actress Kate Winslet has been made a CBE for services to drama by The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
The Reading-born star said it was “a completely different kind of honour” to her 2009 Oscar for The Reader.
Singer Gary Barlow, who masterminded The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert in June, was made an OBE for services to the entertainment industry and charity.
Violinist and Classical Brit winner Tasmin Little was made an OBE for services to music.
Earlier this year she performed a duet with cartoon character Gromit as part of the BBC children’s prom at the Royal Albert Hall.
Reading-born actress Winslet, who shot to worldwide fame in 1997 blockbuster Titanic, said there was “something incomparably overwhelming” about the day.
“The sense of gravity is enormous and you very much feel you are being acknowledged by the whole country in a way,” she said.
Winslet revealed that she had discussed motherhood with The Queen as she collected her honour, after the Queen asked how much she enjoyed acting.
“I said yes, I liked it, but not as much as being a mother. She said, ‘It is the best job’,” the actress told reporters.
Winslet, 37, has a 12-year old daughter, Mia, with first husband Jim Threapleton and a son, Joe, with her second husband, Skyfall director Sam Mendes.
Profiles in History, run by Joe Maddalena, is proud to announce that three iconic items, the “Rose DeWitt Bukater” jump dress from Titanic, Orlando Bloom’s “Legolas” Bow from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the original Gort helmet from The Day the Earth Stood Still all will be apart of “Drama, Action, Romance- The Hollywood Auction” on December 15 & 16.
The exquisite signature dress design for Kate Winslet’s “Rose DeWitt Bukater” character in Titanic was done by Deborah L. Scott. This costume is featured in the memorable scene when Rose and Jack (now considered one of Hollywood’s most legendary screen couples) have their first meeting on the windswept deck of the Titanic. Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, finds a distraught Rose leaning off a railing and stops her from leaping to her death. The dress is expected to fetch $200,000 – $300,000.
